Woman's Club 100 Year Celebration!!!

Saturday, November 8th, 2008 the Woman's Club hosted a private event at the Redondo Beach Clubhouse to celebrate 100 years of community service. Local community leaders and volunteers were invited. (See: http://www.tbrnews.com/articles/2008/10/30/redondo_beach_news/news13.txt)

Spaghetti Dinner

In May we hosted our neighbors, the RB Fire Department at our 2nd Annual Spaghetti Dinner. The community at large gathered to have dinner, and meet and greet their neighbors and firemen. A good time was had by all, and we raised funds to be used toward the purchase of much needed updated equipment, critically needed to save lives!

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS PRESENTATION

Annual Scholarship Luncheon
Also in May we awarded scholarships of $1,000. each to five seniors of Redondo Union High School. We invited the students and their families to our luncheon on May 18th. The students were recognized for their achievements and accomplishments and were invited to share their plans and goals for the future.
The general theme of this luncheon was: "An Ethnic Pot Luck" It was a delightful event. Our members were asked to prepare an ethnic dish of their choice, and to share the cultural background of their dish.

Boy Scouts

We were proud to have the Scouts' annual Pinewood Derby at our clubhouse again this year. Their families were present and our members truly enjoyed their demonstration.

Ice Cream Social

Our annual summer social in July was another hit! Fun for both the young and the young at heart. The Boys and Girl Scouts joined us also and made the event even more special.
